What is ACS 2019?
ACS National Meetings are hosted by the American Chemical Society (WA, USA). The meeting promotes chemistry professionals to meet, share their work and gain knowledge from one another. ACS promotes innovation through research and technology; science education and workforce; sustainability and the environment and science in public policy.
This year’s theme is Chemistry and Water, with specialist talks from Nobel Laureate Frances Arnold and Thomas Markland.

Where is ACS 2019?
ACS 2019 will be hosted in San Diego (CA, USA) across multiple venues. Most of the presentations will be running from the San Diego Convention Center, Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, Hilton San Diego Bayfront and Omni San Diego. More information on times and locations for all events can be found here.
How do I get to the ACS 2019 venue?
On-site private vehicle parking at the Convention Center is available in the underground 1900-space garage through an outside parking management company called Ace Parking (+1 619-237-0399), not controlled by the Convention Centre.
Shuttle busses to locations run every 10-30mins, depending on the route. Venues within walking distance will be clearly signposted and throughout ACS 2019. More information can be found here.
When is the registration deadline for ACS 2019?
The ACS registration is still open.
What is included in the ACS 2019 registration fee?
Registration includes all conference materials, access to scientific sessions, social events and the exhibit and poster halls.
When is the ACS 2019 abstract deadline?
The abstract submission deadline for ACS 2019 has now closed. However, the abstract submission for the 2020 ACS meeting will open later this year, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
Is there childcare at ACS 2019?
Yes, there is a parent/infant room that allows new parents the privacy to care for their infant children. Parents should speak with a member of the SDCC ACS Operations Office to gain access to the room.
ACS 2019 is also running ‘Camp ACS’, a no-cost benefit to all meeting attendees. It is a safe, nurturing environment open to children aged 2 – 16 years. Enrollees participate in arts and crafts projects and active games. A healthy breakfast and lunch for all participants is a part of each day of programming.
To assure that your child has a place, pre-register by 12 August 2019. Camp staff will operate with the understanding that your child will attend each day, all day, unless you note differently in the registration form.
