NEW pE-800fura Calcium Imaging Light Source
After the phenomenal popularity of the 8-channel pE-800 LED Illumination System, CoolLED took a closer look at expanding this ground-breaking technology for the calcium imaging community by swapping in a 340 and 380 nm LED. And here’s the result – the lightning-fast, 8-channel pE-800fura for calcium imaging, pH monitoring, ratiometric fluorescence, FRET, optogenetics and everyday fluorescence microscopy.
The new Illumination System features eight powerful LEDs spanning 340-635 nm to cover all popular calcium and pH indicators, fluorophores and opsins from Fura-2 to Cy5, as well as futureproofing for novel fluorophores as they become available. The ability to individually optimise each channel via software, digital or analogue also helps protect experiments against phototoxicity and photobleaching, increasing data accuracy and pushing the boundaries of time-lapse studies.
Imaging speed has been prioritised with several features to increase temporal resolution and enhance the accuracy of ratiometric measurements. The pE-800fura includes the ability to fit inline excitation filters and benefit from high-speed Pinkel configurations, which allows users to capitalise on industry-leading <7 µs TTL control. When combined with the unique 8-channel Sequence Runner which triggers illumination sequences using just the TTL-out of a camera or other hardware, the pE-800fura can even transform a manual microscope into a powerful automated imaging system.
