Preclinical models of human disease are vital to deepening our understanding of disease pathology and progression, and enable the development of safe and efficacious treatments. There are various models available for modeling disease, but how do they compare?

In this infographic, we compare four preclinical models: in vitro 2D models, in vitro 3D spheroid models, in vivo animal models and in vitro organ-on-a-chip models, highlighting the pros and cons of each, in the context of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis.
