Steve Paddock

Dr Steve Paddock is a Science Education Fellow at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute with over 30 years of experience in biomedical imaging. He has authored numerous publications on advanced applications in microscopy, digital video production, cell and developmental biology and specialized techniques in laser scanning confocal microscopy. His work has appeared in many books and scientific journals, and many of his images have been featured on their covers. Steve earned his PhD in Cell Biology and Physiology from the University of Bristol Medical School in the UK. After postdoctoral work at the Strangeways Laboratory in Cambridge, UK, Dept. of Biophysics, Kings College in London and Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago, USA, he moved to the Laboratory of Molecular Biology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he has worked in Sean B. Carroll’s group for more than 20 years.
