This International Women’s Day we interviewed Emily Richardson (left), a Lead Scientist in the R&D team at CN Bio Innovations (Cambridge, UK). CN Bio is a company that develops organ-on-a-chip or microphysiological system (MPS) models. These organ models can be used for multiple applications – from basic biology to preclinical testing of drugs. For Emily, she believes the technology provides a great alternative to animal testing whilst being more physiologically relevant to human biology, less expensive, and less time-consuming.
