Helping labs become even more sustainable
We’re increasingly aware of the need to do our bit in the fight against the climate emergency, at home as well as in the lab. Knowing where to start can be a challenge and it can seem overwhelming, especially in the lab where single-use plastics and energy-hungry equipment have been the norm for many years. But organisations like My Green Lab are here to help us become more sustainable for a cleaner, greener future.
We take sustainability seriously at CoolLED, which is why we signed our popular pE-300 Series LED Illumination Systems for fluorescence microscopy up to the My Green Lab ACT Label. This stands for Accountability, Consistency and Transparency, and is essentially an “eco-nutrition label” for lab products, providing a score based on the environmental impact of manufacturing, using, and disposing of a product and its packaging.
When it’s time to purchase a new piece of equipment, comparing lab products using the ACT Label is a valuable tool to ensure you are making the most sustainable decision.
The pE-300 Series has been ACT Label certified since 2018, and we’re excited to announce that three key improvements we have made to reduce our impact has resulted in a reduced environmental impact score. Our new ACT score has now reduced from 47.2 to 38.2, helping labs to become more sustainable in 2021!
