This application note offers an alternative to the use of centrifugation/filtration/flocculation to clarify and sterilize mammalian cell cultures. Using a newly developed 24-well, multi-layer filter plate, the cell clarification and sterile filtration processes have been combined into one step.

By reducing the number of steps involved, the plate not only saves time but also reduces the opportunity for human error. The reduced plastic content of the plate also leads to a lower impact on the environment and smaller disposal costs.
