The winner | BioTechniques image competition 2024
We are very pleased to announce that the winner of this year’s image competition is Amino acids, submitted by José Manuel Martínez López!

This photo shows crystals of amino acids in polarized light. After acquiring the 9 photos (3×3 mosaic) in Zen blue, the photos were exported to jpg and then stitched together using Photoshop.
We received numerous submissions for our 2024 image competition. These submissions were sent to our judges for scoring, considering scientific impact, image quality and ‘wow’ factor. The fantastic images you see below are the judge-selected Top 10 that were open to public vote.
