Update for BioTechniques authors

Read more to find out about the upcoming changes to BioTechniques.

Since Future Science Group’s acquisition of BioTechniques in December 2017 we have continued to grow the journal and improve both author and reader experience, and increase the visibility of our articles.

This month we are launching a brand new website. The new website will bring opportunities for presenting research in different formats, including videos, podcasts and infographics. Additionally we have now launched our new BioTechniques forum, providing you with the opportunity to ask more questions, prompt more discussion and build your own network. Get in touch with Digital Editor, Abigail Sawyer ([email protected]) to find out more about these.

As part of this, we are making the move to become a fully gold open access journal. This means that we will begin charging article processing fees in January 2019. We will aim to keep publication fees as low as possible, and we will consider waivers for those with no funding. This will allow us to provide new opportunities for authors in terms of shorter publication times, improved editorial service and dissemination.

For those of you close to submitting but not yet ready, if you contact Managing Editor, Joseph Martin ([email protected]), before the end of November 2018 to discuss your upcoming 2019 submission, we will waive the article processing fees.

We will be present at SfN (November 3-7) in San Diego. If you would like to discuss anything BioTechniques related, please visit Francesca Lake at booth no. 1032.
