Millions of people around the globe are exposed to particulate matter from a myriad of sources, from traffic-related air pollution (TRAP) across the USA and Europe, fires burning 46 million acres in Australia and 259,823 acres in California in 2019 alone, to the polluting diesel trucks and factories affecting 25 million residents in Metropolitan Mexico City (MMC).
