Introducing the new ARRIVE guidelines for animal research

Updated animal research reporting guidelines have been released, aiming to improve transparency and reproducibility. The ARRIVE guidelines were originally published in 2010 to provide authors and journals with guidance on the minimum information necessary for reporting in vivo experiments. However, their impact on the transparency of reporting appears to have been limited. The new ARRIVE 2.0 guidelines seek to address this – in addition to updating the guidelines themselves, further supporting information has been provided alongside examples of good reporting.
