Maanasa Raghavan (left) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Genetics at the University of Chicago (IL, USA). Using a combination of genomic datasets from ancient and present-day human groups, her lab investigates how the genetic diversity that's present today has evolved particularly in under-characterized regions of the world. Alongside researching human population histories, Maanasa’s lab also uses their data to gain insights into the evolution of human health and disease.
