Morgan Hiebert (left) studies drug-resistant tuberculosis within the National Reference Centre for Mycobacteriology (Winnipeg, Manitoba) led by Hafid Soualhine, situated in the National Microbiology Laboratory Branch of the Public Health Agency of Canada. Her research utilizes a multi-omics approach to investigate mutations that can be used as molecular markers for rapid drug susceptibility testing of tuberculosis infections, helping to accelerate the diagnosis and treatment of drug-resistant strains.
