Understanding tumor response
Novel therapies for various cancers are gaining momentum as promising new treatments. Cell therapies, including chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy, have taken great strides in the field of hematological malignancies. However, many challenges remain in the development of new therapeutics.
To face these challenges, understanding the mechanisms behind the response and resistance of different cancers to new therapies, alongside a greater understanding of basic tumor biology is required. Thankfully, new techniques and technologies, such as single-cell and spatial tools, advanced cell models and multiomics, are providing an increased resolution, modeling capability and breadth of information with which to examine cancer.
This Spotlight will cover the latest technological developments and groundbreaking findings in the study of cancer to ultimately better understand the tumor response to therapeutics.
