Next-generation biological models: revolutionizing cancer research

In our latest short documentary film, “Next-generation biological models: revolutionizing cancer research,” we focus on the Human Cancer Models Initiative (HCMI), a groundbreaking international research collaboration to transform cancer research and therapeutic development. The story illustrates the inflection point in cancer research today as new biological models begin to more closely mimic the behavior of the disease and are standardized, annotated, made traceable, and paired with genomic and phenotypic data. The production and distribution of these models is happening on a large scale and is contributing to research that is more valuable and reproducible than in the past. We are proudly playing a critical role in the authentication, standardization, accessibility, traceability, and distribution of these new models.
