Cytokines and receptors in cancer immunotherapy
Cytokines are a key area of interest in cancer immunotherapy. Interleukin (IL)-2, IL-4, IL-7, IL-9, IL-15, and IL-21 comprise a cytokine family based on a shared receptor component, the common cytokine receptor γ chain (γc). γc family cytokines generally activate three major signaling pathways (PI3K-Akt, RAS-MAPK, and JAK-STAT) to regulate the development, survival, proliferation, differentiation, and function of cells in both the innate and adaptive immune systems.
Recently, designer cytokines for the γc family have shown significant therapeutic potential in cancer, allergy, immunodeficiency, and autoimmunity research. This webinar discusses the current landscape of cytokine-based cancer immunotherapy. It will primarily focus on the critical biological roles and therapeutic applications of γc family cytokines and receptors and will also look ahead to future developments within the field.
